Linda Wade
Linda Wade works with a variety of materials to capture her vision of the underwater world and island scenes. The media most commonly used in her artworks are acrylic and watercolor paints, and colored pencils. Her explorations with the subject matter and media are sometimes realistic and always a sensory experience for the viewer. Most of her art works reveal her encounters with the unique ocean and island realm.
Linda grew up in Venezuela, South America. She moved to Texas, U.S.A., where she finished her schooling graduating form Texas Tech University in 1982 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Design Communications. In 1983 Linda returned to school to become an art teacher and share her love of art with her students. She has taught for eleven years in the U.S.A. and overseas. Linda spent seventeen years residing in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands. While teaching art on Kwajalein, Linda became on avid diver and began photographing the ocean world and island life. She adds to her portfolio of work when traveling to numerous locations throughout the Pacific and Belize.
Linda’s extensive photographic library has become the source and motivation of her artistic vision. She hopes her art will engender a love and respect for the underwater world and the life that resides in and around that macrocosm. “I would like people who see my work to feel and experience the wonders of a universe few get to explore,” says the artist.
Linda has had two art exhibitions while on Kwajalein. She continues to paint in her studio in Madison, AL.
